Worklog types

You can classify your worklog entries by introducing Worklog types. If you need a way to differ your worklogs, worklog types can greatly help you achieve this goal. Worklog express allows you to define your own custom worklog types, assign them to different projects using worklog type schemes and mark them with user defined colors to enhance visibility in issue view time tracking panel.

Define your own worklog types and assign them to Jira projects

In this example we will create 3 new worklog types (Meeting, Development and Consultation) and assign them to 2 new Jira projects (Demo Project A and Demo project B).

Worklog type schemes

A JIRA scheme is a collection of configured values that can be used by one or more JIRA projects.
A worklog scheme defines a set of associations or mappings between a worklog type, issue type and a project.

Once all our worklog types are set up, we can assign them to projects.

  1. Press the cog icon and choose the Manage apps option

  2. On the left sidebar, under Worklog express section choose Worklog type schemes to rewiev or create a new one

3. When you choose Add worklog type scheme enter a Scheme name, Description (optional) and select default worklog type. From Available Worklog Types drag and drop types that you will use in the newly opened scheme.

4. Choose which issue types will be in the current scheme

5. After you click Save, we now have a scheme but it is not connected to any projects

6. To fix this, choose the projects that you wish the scheme MyDemo Scheme to apply to and then click Associate

7. We now have a complete Worklog Type Schema connecting our 3 worklog types, 8 issue types and 2 projects
